Quick and simple guide on enabling Developer mode on Steam Deck
First of all – word of caution – please be careful with developer mode – and don’t change or modify things you don’t understand.

How to enable Developer Mode
Press Steam button on Steam Deck
Select Settings menu
Navigate to System – under System Settings click on toggle to Enable Developer Mode
On the bottom of Settings you will now have new – Developer menu
